How to Spot a Bent Frame
Frame damage caused by minor accidents can be hard to spot by just looking. If you aren't sure whether the damage is structural, there are a few clues to look for:
Misaligned
If your bumpers, wheel liners, and other components seem like they don't quite fit anymore, you might have a bent frame. A good indicator is if your doors don't close correctly—leaving a gap or overlapping when shut.
Alignment issues
Bent frames can throw off your vehicle alignment. If your car is veering in one direction, it may be time for a realignment. If it continues to pull, you may need your frame straightened.
Suspension wear
A bent frame puts uneven pressure on your shocks and suspension, meaning some shocks will wear out faster than others. If your suspension seems off, a bent frame may be to blame.
Straightening a Frame
It takes a significant amount of force to bend a frame during an accident, so it takes the same amount to straighten it back into shape. We use Car-O-Liner frame measuring and straightening equipment to pull the frame back into its original shape. This process is smooth and reliable, ensuring no further alignment issues.
Every frame repair is done per OEM manufacturer guidelines and tolerances.
What Car Door Repair Entails
During an accident, door panels can become misaligned, dented, or worse. At International Collision Repair, we assess the damage and determine whether repairing or replacing is the better option. Often, a door panel just needs straightening and realigning.
Please note: We are a collision repair shop. We do not offer restoration or modification services.
Door Panel Removal and Repair
When possible, we prefer to repair damaged components. Not only is it more cost-effective, but it is also better for the environment. To repair a door panel, the whole door must be removed for better access to joints and welds.
Removal
All welds, fasteners, and parts are cleaned. Spot welds are identified, prepared, and removed using wax and a spot weld drill. The panel is disassembled and removed carefully.
Repair
The process involves straightening, welding, and fortifying existing metal. We use specialized welders, rivet guns, and other tools to properly and safely repair the panels. Behind every tool is a structurally trained technician. If the door panel is not salvageable, it is replaced with an OEM-quality part.
Installation
All fasteners on new parts are cleaned, weld primer is applied to joining surfaces, and spot welds are completed following OEM weld procedures. All plastic, electrical, and non-metal panel features are reinstalled.
We Handle the Insurance Process
After an accident, dealing with insurance can be one of the most stressful parts of getting your vehicle repaired. At International Collision Repair, we work directly with your insurance company to help streamline the claims process. From communicating with your adjuster to providing repair documentation and updates, our team helps take the paperwork and coordination off your plate so you can focus on getting back on the road.
